- "This new-generation sports machine, the Meltfire, was designed by former RIVELTA staff. Being one of only a few new machines to appear in a long time, the Meltfire quickly gained popularity. It features a finely crafted interior and exterior, with an extremely low center of gravity cockpit. The Meltfire has proven itself worthy of the next-generation name with its flawless handling and stability."
- ―"Ridge Racer 7"
The Soldat Meltfire is a vehicle manufactured by Soldat, first featured on the cover of Ridge Racer 6.
Design and performance[]
The car was designed by specialists from the former company Rivelta after their acquisition and absorption by Soldat. The car's design is heavily influenced by the Ferrari 360 and F430 even going so far as incorporating Ferrari's trademark red valve covers on its visible mid-mounted engine. The tachometer also takes inspiration fron the two cars, albeit with an inverted colour scheme if the lights are on.
In Ridge Racer 7, the car received a minor facelift, with the most noticeable change being in the taillights; when active, an LED ring encompasses the actual brake-light.
In terms of performance, this car features similar pros with the RC410, featuring a good combination of acceleration, top speed and handling, but is hampered with a low horsepower increase from nitrous, given that this is a trait of cars with higher normal top speeds. While not quite as speedy as the Raggio and Starnose, it is still a capable racer, and can easily match the twin designs from Assoluto.
A Complete Machine variant of the Meltfire is available as an unlockable in Ridge Racer 7, under Category 2. Despite the minor facelift the street version received, this one uses the exact same model from Ridge Racer 6, hence retaining the brake-lights from that game.
In Ridge Racer Vita, the Meltfire was changed into a more race-like version different from the "Complete Machine" variant from Ridge Racer 7 and is now fitted with a V10 engine.

Trivia[]
- The Soldat Meltfire is the mascot car in Ridge Racer 6 for Xbox 360, appearing dominantly on the game cover with its "Mitsurugi" livery.
- The badging of the Meltfire is reminiscent of the font used in Maserati's alternate badging.
- The intro movie of Ridge Racer 6 depicts Reiko Nagase playing with a die-cast model of the Meltfire with a pull-back motor.
- The fact that the Meltfire in Ridge Racer 6 and 7 started out with a V8 engine, and later on, had a newer V10 engine in Ridge Racer Vita, is a reference to the first-generation Audi R8's engine, which had a V8 at first, from 2006, then a V10 later onwards from 2009.
- A road-going version of the Meltfire with a Pac-Man livery appears on Drift Spirits as part of Pac-Man's 40th anniversary special event.
