Mythical Coast is a course first introduced in Rage Racer. It returns in Ridge Racers 2 and Ridge Racer 3D.
Course information[]
Mythical Coast is the first course introduced to players in Rage Racer. It is the shortest and easiest of the courses, taking players along a seaside village and monument ruins inspired by Greek architecture. Notable in this course is the big jump as players exit the three-way tunnel, which is immediately followed by a sharp right-hand turn that will cause players to lose speed significantly when collided into. The sharp hairpin turn towards the end of the ruins may also prove difficult to maneuver especially with higher grade cars.
Errors[]

Mythical Coast

Union Hill District. The roads are completely different. While the road in Union Hill District is set along the side of a cliff, Mythical Coast is set in a completely different area, with the existence of a left-hand turn.
- In Ridge Racers 2 and Ridge Racer 3D, an error exists between Mythical Coast and Union Hill District where there exists a piece of road that does not match up between the two courses, despite this portion of the map supposedly being shared by both courses.
- As shown in the screenshots, Mythical Coast R features a road splitting to the left and leaves the tunnel straight ahead (which would lead to Union Hill District) blocked off. However, Union Hill District R does not feature this split at all, replacing what would be the road leading to Mythical Coast with a rock formation and even the rock formation on the right with open ocean.
- This error can be seen much more prominently in Ridge Racer 3D, where the minimap on the bottom screen can be zoomed in. Since the zoomed-in minimap shows the positions of the two courses relative to each other (that is, showing where they overlap), it is very easy to see where this error occurs.
- This may be a developer oversight, as Ridge Racers does not include Mythical Coast, which would not have necessitated the inclusion of the Mythical Coast road split in Union Hill District.
- Even outside of the above error, if one closely examines the geography of the courses and cross-references this with their relative positions on the map, there does not seem to be a logical way for these two courses, as well as Lakeside Parkway, to coexist with each other.
- Another error exists in the Ridge Racers 2 reverse course, where cars may fly off the road along the right-hand turn at the ruins, causing players to uncontrollably hit the corner's outer wall and lose a lot of speed.
