Ridge Racer Wiki

"The flames shooting from its dual mufflers makes it resemble its namesake. While easy to charge your nitrous gauges with, a single nitrous burst has short-lived effects. its Standard nitrous type cannot be altered." ~Ridge Racer 3D description.

The Lucky & Wild Mad Bull is a hot-rod-style car manufactured by Lucky & Wild. It so far appears in Ridge Racer 3D, where it is a Special Machine. It can be unlocked by completing Event #45 of the Grand Prix mode, the aptly named 'MADBULL Duel', where it must be raced against head-to-head on Downtown Rave City and Rave City Riverfront R while being driven by a rival named Tempest. It also appears in Event #48, where it is driven by Reiko Nagase.

It is based on a tuned, hot-rodded version of a 1932 Ford Model 18 Roadster with a hard top, and as such, is powered by a large supercharged V8 engine (note the blower on the car's hood) that allows it to reach 355km/h.

It is also notable for its quick nitrous charges, but at the cost of boost duration, which seems to be very short, and therefore, has poor ultimate charging rates, despite the nitrous' horsepower boost being very similar to the standard type.

It features similar handling to the Evolver and other Dynamic-class cars, although the drift type is labeled as "special".

Trivia[]

  • This is one of a few cars that Reiko Nagase is shown to drive in the series, besides the Age Prophetie, Soldat Raggio and Lucky & Wild Evolver. In the last few races in Ridge Racer 3D, you will encounter her driving the Mad Bull, along with two other racers, 'RAGE' and 'RAVE', who drive a Kamata Angelus and Soldat Crinale respectively, in a lap elimination-style race.
    • Because of this, it is possible that the Mad Bull is the winning car of the 2011 Ridge State Grand Prix, with Nagase herself as the championship-winning driver.
  • The Mad Bull is the only Special Machine in Ridge Racer 3D to be unique to the title.
  • It is likely that the Mad Bull can be considered a "spiritual successor" to the Lizard Bulldog. This is in the same vein as that of the Wisdom and Danver Hi-Night, which are both also spiritual successors to previous Danver/Lizard machines. This is all but confirmed by the name of it's driver, Tempest, being a direct reference to the Bulldog's name in Rage Racer's Japanese version, the Lizard Tempest.
    • Other than the Lizard Bulldog, the Mad Bull also makes a subtle reference to the Assoluto Squaldon, as all of its liveries feature 666 as its traditional racing number, a clear nod to its 6,666,666 eg price. This is also the Number of the Beast under the Book of Revelations of the Holy Bible.
