The Age Espion is a sports car manufactured by Age, exclusively featured in Ridge Racer Type 4.

Design and performance

Design wise, it's similar to the Age Antilope in terms of the "long hood, short deck" proportion (with larger body now resembling cars like the TVR Cerbera) and its round headlights. Performance wise, it's powered by a large 4.5 liter overhead cam inline-6, mated to a 6-speed transmission that can propel the Espion to speeds of over 300 km/hour. On R4's branch system, it sits at the lower end of Stage 4.

The Espion, which is equipped with a 4,500cc in-line 6-cylinder engine, is called the "forbidden fruit." The name Espion comes from a French reconnaissance fighter that was actually active in the sky about 50 years ago. The Espion, which secretly infiltrated the enemy's territory and caused fatal damage to the opponent, is now playing an active part by changing the stage to a circuit. Again, the run of approaching the opponent in secret and pulling it out in a blink of an eye causes fatal damage to the rivals. In Europe, the war was taboo, but the developers who knew about the war would have fooled that car and dared to name it Espion with the wish of victory. By the way, Espion is also a french word meaning 'spy'.
