The Averse is a sports car manufactured by Age, featured exclusively in Ridge Racer Type 4.

Design and performance

This car features a low-profile, aerodynamic look, inspired by a mix of the Ginetta G12 and an Alpine A220. Equipped with a 3.2 liter overhead valve V8 engine, the lightweight Averse is a capable performer with an excellent power-to-weight ratio in its class. On R4's branch system, it sits in the middle of Stage 3.

The Averse is a reimported car produced by Age Solo at a local factory in the United States. Age, which was successful in Europe, entered the United States as its next market. It's a model that has led the world as a car which can taste the European flavour in America as well and is now being reimported from the United States back to France again. Like with American cars, the engine is a V8 3,200cc OHV. The engine runs up to a high RPM of 8,000, but produces maximum horsepower at a relatively low RPM of 6,400. The engine, which is straightforward and relatively easy to handle, goes well with the car's wide body and you can enjoy surprisingly straightforward driving. Of course, don't forget to grip.

• The name "averse" means "downpour" in French.
• The car's description is a nod to Renault (Age's real life counterpart) entering US market through American Motors Corporation in the 1980s.
• Being equipped with a 3.2-liter V8 engine, this engine configuration is almost similar to the engine in the Alpine A220 (3.0-liter V8), one of the cars the Averse is based on.
