The Megere is a car manufactured by Âge, featured in Ridge Racer Type 4 and Ridge Racer 64.
Design and performance[]
Up front, the car looks like the Prophetie, but the rear end features an entirely different design. In a typical Age fashion, this car features a lightweight construction, coupled to a 2.5 liter overhead cam V6 engine that's enough to make this car Âge's top-end Stage 2 machine.
In Ridge Racer 64, the RT Xevious Red and Green cars are based on this model, except the car's rear wing is missing on them.
The following is a translated transcription of the car featured in the Japanese Ridge Racer Type 4 - Namco Official Guide Book R4:
Extreme running is exactly the wolf of the circuit.
Lightweight sports with a midship layout being the entry from the next qualifying, but the running is not very responsive to the V6 engine, but it is time to use the accelerator. Unusual for Âge Solo which isn't really known to attach wings to their cars, it is a lightweight sports car that features a rectangular-shaped upper wing as if it was attached. It will be an entry from the next qualifying, but the running is a radical one that can use up the V6 engine as a light weight sports car, with certain suspension steps on it. It supports the behavior of demonstrating uncontrollable jerky horsetail. It is interesting to know how the NA engine of the base vehicle and the super tuning machine of the final race of the final GP are changing at low speed. However, it is interesting to know how it evolves, especially in the final GP, depending on the engine speed, to the wolf of the circuit.
Trivia[]
- The car's name means "shrew" in French.
- It resembles the Lotus Europa, specifically a race-modified version featured in Circuit Wolf, a Japanese shonen racing manga; this is referred in blurb of the car in the official guidebook.
- Due to Age's resemblance to Renault, the Megere's OHC V6 may be a nod to the PRV engine, an overhead cam 2.7L V6 engine developed jointly by Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo.
